🌱 Introducing the Local ReFi Toolkit + Funding Pool

Welcome to one of the most exciting developments in the Regen Coordination ecosystem!

We’re building an open-source library of local ReFi playbooks and case studies—and we want you to help shape it.

:toolbox: What is the Local ReFi Toolkit?

The Local ReFi Toolkit is a collaborative, evolving resource that documents how communities around the world can leverage Web3 systems to regenerate their local ecosystems and economies.

This living knowledge commons includes:

  • How-to playbooks: Step-by-step guides to launch local regenerative initiatives using Web3 tools.
  • Case studies: Real-world examples of ReFi in action—what worked, what didn’t, and what others can learn.
  • Templates & workshops: Tools to help new and existing projects scale their impact, educate their communities, and replicate successful models.

Think of it as an open library of decentralized economic blueprints—designed by and for community builders.

:sparkles: Why It Matters

The Toolkit is designed to support Regen Coordination’s North Star outcomes:

  1. :globe_showing_europe_africa: Expand awareness and adoption of ReFi Web3
  2. :chart_increasing: Increase financial activity on Celo, Ethereum, and aligned ecosystems
  3. :green_heart: Support local ecological, social, and economic impact

It helps local leaders share their knowledge, lower the barrier to entry, and grow our regenerative movement from the ground up. Plus, it aligns with broader efforts like Ethereum Localism, BioFi, and Regen Coordination’s global network of local nodes and chapters.

:money_with_wings: The Funding Pool — Now Open for Proposals!

To help co-create the Toolkit, we’ve launched a dedicated Funding Pool. This pool provides microgrants to support:

  • :writing_hand: Writing or localizing playbooks
  • :camera_with_flash: Documenting case studies
  • :books: Translating or templating materials
  • :test_tube: Piloting new regenerative models or workshops
  • :movie_camera: Creating media or educational content

:receipt: How it works:
Funding is allocated via conviction voting in the Regen Coordination Garden. The longer a proposal gains support, the more likely it is to get funded.

:money_bag: Pool Details:

  • Total Pool: $2.5k USDGLO
  • Max Request: up to 50% of the pool’s funds
  • Voting Token: $Regen (one wallet = one vote)
  • Proposals must be open-source and contribute to the Toolkit

:white_check_mark: How to Apply

  1. Join our Telegram → @RegenCoordinate

  2. Get $Regen tokens (bridged to Celo via EcoBridge)

  3. Join the Garden → Regen Coordination Garden

  4. Stake & create your proposal, including:

    • Team bios
    • Budget & timeline
    • Link to draft or concept
    • Impact & alignment with toolkit goals

:light_bulb: You can also vote on other proposals to grow your conviction and help decide which contributions should be funded!

:handshake: Who Can Participate?

You can contribute if you are:

  • A regenerative project using Web3 tools
  • A protocol team working with community implementation
  • An educator, translator, or toolkit builder
  • A DAO or nonprofit supporting local regeneration

We especially welcome multi-stakeholder collaborations that combine technical, ecological, and community expertise.

:potted_plant: Why This Matters for Our Movement

Local regenerative ecosystems need open, reusable knowledge and shared infrastructure. The Local ReFi Toolkit helps shift us from isolated pilots to an interconnected movement of regenerative practitioners, each learning from and building on one another’s work.

This is how we move from grant cycles to economic cycles—where capital stays in the community, where people build local wealth, and where regenerative infrastructure is copied, remixed, and adapted to every context.

Let’s build this together :globe_showing_europe_africa::seedling:
