Hello RegenCoordination community,
I’m Nasihudeen Jimoh, founder of AfriCycle, a decentralized protocol enabling verifiable, incentivized waste recovery across underserved communities in Africa.
We’re on a mission to transform informal climate action like picking plastic off the street into provable, fundable public goods that bridge local circular economies with global ReFi coordination systems.
AfriCycle turns waste into data-rich, on-chain proof-of-impact rewarding the people doing the work and opening the door to new regenerative financial flows.
The Challenge
Africa produces over 17 million tons of plastic annually, much of it ending up in waterways and landfills. Despite this, a growing network of informal waste workers collectors and recyclers are actively mitigating this crisis every day.
Yet:
- Their work goes unrecognized in climate finance systems
- NGOs lack data to verify impact and distribute funding
- DAO and ReFi protocols struggle to connect with local, real-world coordination
- Climate funding does not flow where it’s needed most
This is a visibility and coordination failure and it’s solvable.
AfriCycle: The Infrastructure We’re Building
AfriCycle is a mobile-first platform that enables collectors and recyclers to:
- Submit waste recovery claims (photo, GPS, timestamp, waste type)
- Match with nearby recyclers through a live map
- Schedule pickups and get verified
- Receive stablecoin rewards in cUSD
- Collectors also earn daily micro-rewards in G$ (GoodDollar)
No wallet setup required the app runs via PWA (web & mobile) and integrates seamlessly with MiniPay for onboarding.

Tech Stack & Coordination Design
- MiniPay integration for instant mobile onboarding
- Live recycler mapping and pickup scheduling
- Multi-layer verification (photo, time, location, recycler review)
- IPFS for proof storage
- Stable rewards in cUSD, micro-claims in G$
- No native app required works across low-bandwidth environments
Phase 1 — MVP & Closed Beta (Q2–Q3 2025)
- MVP live
- Verified waste claims submitted by real collectors and recyclers
- G$ and cUSD rewards active and being disbursed
- Launched MiniPay + PWA-based claim system (no app download required)
- Community onboarding and early feedback underway
Goal: Validate the protocol in real-world conditions and prepare for scale
Phase 2 — Partnership & ReFi Infrastructure (Q4 2025)
- Collaborate with ReFi DAOs and GreenPill for pilot funding flows
- Expand to 10+ new cities across Africa
- Launch regional training + verification programs
- Explore token/NFT extensions tied to waste claims
Goal: Deepen ecosystem partnerships and prepare regenerative infrastructure for public good funding
Phase 3 — Full Launch (2026)
- Launch open marketplace for recyclable materials and claims
- Deploy proof-of-impact NFTs for verified environmental work
- Integrate DAO-based payout governance
- Roll out carbon data modules and ReFi scoring tools
- Formalize investor + grantor coordination layers
- Expand to 20+ cities
Goal: Launch fully decentralized infrastructure that enables anyone to coordinate, fund, or earn from verified regeneration
Why AfriCycle Matters for RegenCoordination
AfriCycle bridges the gap between on-chain coordination infrastructure and off-chain climate labor unlocking new pathways for verifiable regeneration where it matters most.
We are grounding Web3 tools in the hands of everyday people who are already acting on climate, but have historically been excluded from global funding flows.
Our work proves that:
- Climate action is happening even without incentives
- Verification is possible with the right data and tools
- Coordination is missing and that’s where ReFi can lead
By transforming waste collection into transparent, verifiable, on-chain public goods, AfriCycle is enabling:
New funding pipelines for measurable, grassroots climate impact
ReFi primitives like proof-of-recovery NFTs and claim registries
Stable income streams for thousands of informal workers across Africa
DAO-native opportunities to fund, verify, and govern real-world regeneration
AfriCycle is not just solving a waste problem it’s establishing the infrastructure needed to recognize, reward, and regenerate at the edge of coordination.
How You Can Collaborate
ReFi DAOs & Ecosystem Partners
We seek to collaborate and partner with DAOs and ecosystem leaders to co-create regional climate pilots, fund verifiable waste recovery, and integrate AfriCycle claims into the ReFi ecosystem.
Builders & Devs
Join us in building open claim infrastructure, DAO payout systems, and NFT-based proof tools for transparent public goods coordination.
Funders & Investors
Support AfriCycle’s growth to expand impact, empower local waste economies, and launch a marketplace for on-chain regenerative action.
Why We’re Here
Waste recovery is climate work and those doing it should be recognized, rewarded, and resourced.
AfriCycle isn’t just a recycling tool it’s a coordination layer for verifiable climate action, grounded in local communities and backed by data that ReFi DAOs, public goods funders, and regenerative networks can trust.
We’re here to connect ground action to chain reaction and we’d love to build this with you.
