DeCleanup Network: Playbook Published, Docs Live, Base App Launched, Celo in Testing -Here’s Everything
Category: Project Updates / ReFi / Environmental Impact
Hey everyone,
Me and the little crew have been heads-down building for a while and it’s time for a proper update. A lot has shipped, a lot is in motion, and we want the community to know exactly where things stand, what’s coming next, and how to get involved.
What Just Shipped
Base Mini App - Live Now
The DeCleanup Rewards mini app is live on Base, accessible inside Farcaster and the Base app. This is the fastest way to start participating: no wallet setup required, no complicated onboarding. You document a cleanup, submit before-and-after photos with location enabled, get verified by community stakers, and earn $bDCU tokens.
Reward structure (current):
- 10 $bDCU per approved cleanup
- +2 $bDCU for weekly streak maintenance
- +3 $bDCU per referral (when your referred user completes their first cleanup)
- +1 $bDCU per valid verification (for stakers who review submissions)
→ Open on Farcaster
→ Open on Base app

(85% circulating supply, fair launch - no presales, no VC allocations, 15% for user rewards)
Celo Full Platform - In Testing
The full DeCleanup dApp on Celo is running on testnet and we are working through the remaining issues before mainnet. The Celo platform is a different experience from the mini app - it’s built for individuals looking for proper impact documentation, organizers, NGOs, and participants who want the complete picture: full dashboard, leaderboards, governance via Gardens.fund, $cDCU (our reputation and governance token), and Hypercerts minted after every 10 verified cleanups.
If you want to try it and help us find bugs, we would love testers.
Docs Are Live (Main Docs - Dev Docs Coming Later)
We have published the first wave of public documentation. Dev docs are not ready yet - that’s a separate effort and it’s coming. But everything a community member, organizer, or potential partner needs to understand the project is now public:
| Document | Link |
|---|---|
| Website | decleanup.net |
| Litepaper | decleanup.net/litepaper |
| Theory of Change | decleanup.net/toc |
| User Guide | decleanup.net/userguide |
| Tokenomics | decleanup.net/tokenomics |
Community Playbook - Published on Regen Coordination
We contributed a full community playbook to the Regen Coordination page on Notion. This covers everything a new participant needs: how the platform works, step-by-step wallet and app setup, photo documentation standards, gas fee guidance, reward structures, all six community roles, and the connection to our Theory of Change.
The Full Roadmap - Where We Are and Where We’re Going
We run on a three-phase roadmap. Here’s the honest current state of each phase:
Phase 1 - Foundation (Live)
What’s done:
- Base mini app with $bDCU rewards, streaks, and referrals
- Community verification system (stakers review submissions)
- Impact Product NFTs (dynamic NFTs that level up with each verified cleanup: Newbie → Pro → Hero → Guardian)
- Basic framework: geotagged before/after photos, GPS-embedded, team and community-reviewed
What we know from Phase 1:
The friction point is photo quality and GPS enablement - the most common rejection reason is location not embedded in the photo. We are improving the in-app guidance to catch this before submission.
Phase 2 - Governance & Celo (In Development)
What’s in progress:
- Celo full platform mainnet launch (currently on testnet)
- Hypercert record generation (ERC-1155 impact certificates, minted every 10 cleanups)
- $cDCU governance implementation via Gardens.fund
- Full dashboard with leaderboards, analytics, and campaign management
Target: We are not publishing a hard date but mainnet on Celo is the next major milestone. Watch the Telegram for the announcement.
Phase 3 - AI Verification (Started)
What’s coming:
- AI-assisted verification using a YOLOv8 trash detection model trained on the TACO dataset - the model analyzes submissions for duplicates, geo inconsistencies, waste type categorization, and fraud probability
- Real-World Impact (RWI) Rank - a network-wide reputation scoring system
- Progressive decentralization of verification - moving from community review to fully onchain staking-based validation
Phase 3 is the point at which verification becomes trustless and the data layer becomes genuinely useful for ESG-grade reporting, grant applications, and policy.
How to Join - Right Now, Today
You don’t need to wait for Phase 2 or Phase 3. Here’s what you can do today:
Do a Cleanup and Earn
- Open the mini app on Farcaster or the Base app
- Enable GPS on your phone camera
- Find a polluted spot, take a before photo, clean it, take an after photo from the same angle
- Submit through the app
- Wait for verification and claim your $bDCU + Impact Product NFT
That’s it. Your first cleanup takes about 20 minutes total.
Join as a Volunteer
Our Volunteer program is for people who want to contribute beyond their own cleanups. Volunteers help the community run - testing new features, reporting bugs, assisting with translations, supporting events, and helping moderate community spaces.
DeCleanup Network decleanup.net is looking for volunteers to help organize cleanups, grow community, create content, and support partnerships & fundraising. No Web3 experience needed - impact first. Please share the interest form with those who you think might be interested:
What volunteers do:
- Help organize cleanups at their location or coordinate decentralized cleanups online
- Grow community
- Create content
- Support partnerships and fundraising
What volunteers get:
- $bDCU from the community incentives allocation
- Recognition in community updates
- Early access to new features and information
- Direct line to the core team
If you’re interested, please fill the form or share with the ones who might be interested.
Apply as an Ambassador
The Ambassador program is for people with an existing community or platform who want to represent DeCleanup in their region or network. Ambassadors are the external face of the project - online-focused, outreach-driven, and community-building.
What ambassadors do:
- Promote DeCleanup to their local community and regional networks
- Onboard new users through their personal channels and platforms
- Run local intro events and launch sessions
- Represent DeCleanup at conferences, ecosystem events, and ReFi gatherings
What ambassadors get:
- $bDCU incentives from the community allocation
- Referral bonuses for every user they bring in who completes a cleanup
- Co-promotion through DeCleanup’s channels
- Official Ambassador recognition and credentials
Who it’s for: ReFi community members, environmental advocates with an online presence, local organizers who want to grow their impact digitally, and anyone who believes in the mission and has a community to bring into it.

Become a Verifier
If you already hold $bDCU or $cDCU, you can stake to join the verifier pool and earn +1 $bDCU for every valid submission you review. Verifiers are essential - they are the quality gatekeepers that make the data trustworthy. Slashing applies to verifiers who approve fraudulent submissions, which keeps the system honest.
What We’re Aligned With
DeCleanup is built to align with:
- UN SDGs: 11 (Sustainable Cities), 12 (Responsible Consumption), 14 (Life Below Water), 15 (Life on Land)
- ReFi ecosystem: Regen Bazaar, Atlantis, Detrash Global, Giveth, Gitcoin, Octant, ETHForTheWorld
- Blockchain infrastructure: Base (Superchain) + Celo (mobile-first ReFi)
- Impact standards: DMRV framework, Hypercerts (ERC-1155), Gardens.fund governance
We are open infrastructure. Our data is designed to travel - not stay siloed - and to be composable across the regenerative ecosystem.
Questions, Feedback, Pushback
We are a one and half person team but we read everything. If something in the documentation is unclear, if you hit a bug, if you think we’re wrong about something in the roadmap - say so. The Theory of Change is a living document and we revise it based on what we learn.
