Revision – February 26, 2026
This draft has been updated to explicitly present the Farmblock ReFi Initiative as an independent contribution to the ReFi DAO network, without implying formal collaboration or co-ownership with any local node. All prior references to specific node partnerships have been removed following community input. The proposal now focuses solely on Farmblock’s potential as a regenerative, open tool for the ecosystem. Feedback remains welcome.
Proposal Title
Farmblock ReFi Initiative: Regenerative Ownership & Payments through On-Chain Farm Tokenization, Education, and Agro-Tourism in Southeast Nigeria.
Proposer
Jordan ‘Oforge’ Ofurum (@Jay_Oforge) – ReFi DAO Network Member. As a Celo citizen from Imo State (Ngor-Okpala), I hold a B.Agric Degree in Agribusiness Management and a DeFi Diploma Pro Blockchain certification from partners including Mento, Base, Beefy, Lisk, Tally, c-Labs, and Fonbnk (ipfs://QmRqfqs2c26TNmfZmrUBwEcWRK1mf21thiRViq8QzwHFuP/0.png). My bakery business (@oforgefoods) accepts MiniPay payments with a 10% discount for users, endorsed by Celo CEO Marek Olszewski via tweet (link: https://x.com/marek_/status/2021929545063104876?s=46), demonstrating real-world regenerative stablecoin adoption (as shown in attached ad for Gozzicci Kitchen).
Requested Amount
800 USDGLO
Breakdown:
• 300 USDGLO – Podcast production & distribution (educational content on ReFi + regenerative payments).
• 200 USDGLO – Educational campaigns & materials (workshops on zk-proof verification & NFT ownership).
• 200 USDGLO – RWA regeneration pilots (seeds/tools for on-chain garden and plantation tokenization).
• 100 USDGLO – Agro-tourism setup & documentation (pilot events with stablecoin payments).
About the Initiative
The Farmblock ReFi Initiative, powered by the Farmblock Dapp (MVP) on Celo, empowers communities through sustainable agriculture and transparent governance. It enables farm/garden holders to bring their land on-chain for shared ownership and regenerative fundraising.
This is a network-wide tool and initiative, not a new local node, designed to support existing ReFi communities. Users verify identity via self-zk proof on Celo before creating a FarmBlock, set up a Gnosis Safe multisig for community governance, define a registration stake (in a chosen regenerative payment currency like USDm, USDT, USDC, or local stablecoins, with the amount set by the farm holder), and mint unique NFT shares. Prospective members fundraise via NFT drops/minting tied to real agricultural products, creating sustainable, community-owned regen assets. This model promotes regenerative payments through stablecoins (USDm, USDT, USDC, and Tether Gold for store of value via MiniPay), reducing volatility while supporting green, inclusive finance, perfectly aligned with ReFi DAO’s focus on ecological restoration and equitable economies.
Objectives
• Enable verifiable on-chain ownership of farms/gardens via zk-proof + NFT shares for true community empowerment.
• Promote regenerative stablecoin payments (USDm, USDT, USDC) and store-of-value options (Tether Gold) for sustainable, green transactions in agro-ecosystems.
• Educate on ReFi, BioFi, and DeSci through podcasts, workshops, and real-world pilots.
• Generate bioregional funding via NFT minting/drops tied to productive land.
• Strengthen ReFi DAO’s Nigerian network by providing tools to revitalize low-activity regions with green finance solutions.
Planned Dynamic
Farm holders:
1. Verify humanity/country via self-zk proof on Celo.
2. Create FarmBlock: input basic info, set governance (Gnosis Safe), choose regenerative payment currency (e.g., USDm, USDT, USDC) and stake amount (e.g., 2 USDGLO), mission statement.
3. Mint unique NFT shares.
4. New members stake the chosen currency/amount to join, gain ownership rights, and participate in governance.
Workshops & podcasts will teach this flow, with agro-tourism events showcasing live on-chain farms using regenerative payments.
