This proposal recommends migrating the existing Regen Commons Discourse into the Regen Coordination Forum Hub as a dedicated top-level category. This will help consolidate coordination spaces, reduce fragmentation, and support clearer collaboration between the Regen Commons and the broader Regen Coordination network.

  • Strengthen coordination & alignment: Regen Commons is emerging as a vital organisation in stewarding identity, legitimacy, and shared narrative for the broader regenerative movement. Locating it alongside Regen Coordination enhances visibility and alignment across the ecosystem.
  • Foster cross-pollination & learning: Bringing Regen Commons into the shared forum invites greater dialogue between those focused on cultural legitimacy (Commons) and those focused on operational execution (Coordination)—unlocking opportunities for deeper mutual reinforcement.
  • Reduce operational overhead: Hosting Regen Commons in the shared Regen Coordination Forum eliminates the need for a separate paid Discourse instance—freeing up budget for collective priorities and shared infrastructure.
  • Simplify the stack: Migrating into an already structured and hosted platform reduces digital complexity and lowers friction for contributors engaging across both domains.

This proposal also reflects a broader intent: we are actively exploring deeper collaboration, synergy, and interweaving between Regen Coordination and Regen Commons. While each plays a distinct role—Commons as a cultural foundation and Coordination as an executional layer—bringing them into closer proximity will help shape a more coherent, trust-rich, and collaborative ecosystem.

:puzzle_piece: Proposed Integration Plan

  • A new top-level category named “Regen Commons” will be created in the forum.
  • Existing threads (or summaries) from the regencommons.discourse.group can be migrated
  • Forum admins will grant category permissions to Regen Commons stewards to manage discussions, subcategories, and moderation.
  • Regen Commons will be invited to publish a Welcome / About thread in their new category, outlining their purpose and ongoing work.

That makes sense, as long as it’d make our coordination better.

Love it. I’ve attended a handful of the Regen Commons calls/workshops and really appreciate that community very much. There are already a lot of connecting threads with Regen Coordination so might as well embrace it and use joint infra to increase cross pollination and lower operating costs.
