🤑 Regen Coordination x AI ImpactQF: GG23 & DeepGov Bonus Allocation Announced

The Regen Coordination Global GG23 Round was our most ambitious regenerative funding experiments in Web3 to date. With over $96,000 in matching, 579 donors, and 50 projects funded, this round piloted a new model for allocating capital based on demonstrated impact — blending community support with advanced AI-driven evaluation.

In partnership with Gitcoin, ReFi DAO, Greenpill Network, and Celo Public Goods, this round introduced AI ImpactQF — a fusion of:

  • :herb: Common Impact Data Standards (CIDS) via Karma GAP
  • :robot: AI-generated evaluations using GPT-4o & Claude 3.7
  • :collision: Impact-Weighted Quadratic Funding (ImpactQF) to allocate funds based on verified outcomes

We’ve published a full retrospective and case study on the Gitcoin forum, detailing the full methodology, learnings, and next steps for scaling this system across the globe:

:money_with_wings: Bonus $6,000 Distributed via DeepGov AI

As an experimental final step, Regen Coordination partnered with DeepGov to allocate a $6,000 bonus matching pool using their new system of AI Politicians — autonomous agents designed to simulate capital allocation from different political and value-aligned perspectives.

All 50 projects in the Regen Coordination GG23 Round were reviewed again by DeepGov’s AI, based on their Gitcoin applications and Karma GAP reporting data.

A few important notes:

  • This is a prototype deployment — scores and reviews may not reflect every project’s full nuance.
  • Bugs or unexpected outcomes may have occurred — please let us know if something doesn’t look right!
  • We’re very curious how you feel this compares with the main GPT-4o & Claude 3.7 ImpactQF evaluations — your feedback will help improve future funding mechanisms.

:brain: About DeepGov

DeepGov is a novel platform that explores how AI can support democratic governance and capital allocation by simulating AI Politicians with unique ideological worldviews. These agents:

  • Engage in broad listening via structured or unstructured public input
  • Participate in democratic steering through elections and constituent feedback
  • Allocate funds based on programmable preferences and evolving understanding of community values

You can learn more and explore their open tools like Polis, Compass, and AI-powered reviews at deepgov.org.

:globe_showing_europe_africa: What’s Next?

Regen Coordination is actively working to:

  • Build a scalable, automated version of the ImpactQF stack, further integrating and adding functionality to Karma GAP & DeepGov
  • Launch more local and bioregional rounds globally
  • Explore cosmo-local capital flows blending Web3 + civic funding
  • Advance governance via Regen Coordination Hub and open council processes

We believe these systems can transform how resources flow, who gets to decide, and how we scale real regenerative impact — and we’re grateful to be on this journey with all of you.

Greenpill Writers Guild has links to the previous Newsletters and both books in the Karma GAP activity reports. Wonder why the DeepGov AIs weren’t able to detect anything. GPT-4o and Claude 3.7 assessments were substantially more accurate in this case.
