I was curious about the Regen trademark and what industries and/or use-cases it covers, so I tried to search for it online.
It was easy to find the “Regen Network” trademark: https://branddb.wipo.int/en/similarname/brand/US502021090790939
However, I spent some time searching and I couldn’t find the 2017 “Regen” trademark. Maybe I wasn’t looking in the right place? Do you have the trademark’s registration number or a link to it? Thank you so much!
Regen Network’s tm is the trademark in question. We’ve already negotiated with people over the use of the term “Regen” in the space covered by the trademark. (specifically "Regen as used by Regeneration.org). So Regen Registry, Regen Marketplace, Regen Token, Regen Coin, etc are all covered by that mark. Essentially anything that can “cause market confusion” is covered by a mark like this. I’d like to continue to reiterate: we are hoping to create a coherent commons to govern this mark for the larger community, not be engaging as an enforcement body. If a community is coming together and wants to fully open the mark, that’s one possible outcome. Another is to maintain the mark in order to build coherence and strong norms around usage, but as governed by a community and not a single business entity.
