Take the Greenpill with Greenpill Nigeria, 10 Weeks of ReFi Education

Introduction

In a time where public awareness of REFI and Public Goods in Nigeria is growing but still in obscurity, Greenpill Nigeria embarked on a bold, regenerative journey: “Take the Greenpill” a 10-week ReFi and Public Good Education Workshop Series. From May 5 - 14 July 2025

This campaign aimed to demystify Regenerative Finance (ReFi) and Public Goods, inspiring a new generation of Nigerian Web3 enthusiasts to not just to be aware , but to build with purpose.

Spanning 8 communities, this initiative empowered learners, creators, and builders with the knowledge and tools to rethink value, impact, and sustainability in Web3.

Final IRL Meetup: 1 major event – Ethereum at 10 Meetup (Anambra and Enugu)

Content Delivered: Modules on ReFi, Public Goods, DAOs, DEPIN etc.

What We Taught

The workshop offered a progressive learning curriculum, delivered online, 4hrs(2days) per community

  • What is ReFi? – Beyond DeFi, toward sustainability and impact
  • Public Goods 101 – Why open, free infrastructure matters
  • DAOs & Coordination – New ways to organize for good
  • DEPINi & Climate – Using Web3 to solve real-world problems
  • Global Examples – Gitcoin, Greenpill Network, Refi and more
  • Refi Tools heavily utilized: POAP, Impact Miner, KarmaGAP

Ethereum at 10 IRL Meetup

To close the campaign, Greenpill Nigeria hosted an in-person Ethereum @10 Meetup, marking a decade of Ethereum’s impact and celebrating Nigeria’s ReFi future

  • Locations: Awka and Enugu
  • Attendance: 70+ passionate builders, learners, and leaders
  • Activities: Refi and Ethereum Talks, networking sessions, games, refreshments
  • Outcomes: REFI and public good Awareness, collaborations, and a stronger network

Why It Matters

  • Nigeria is rich in talent but the ReFi movement needs to decentralize globally.
  • Regenerative ideas resonate deeply at the grassroots
  • Education is the most powerful on-ramp to meaningful Web3 adoption
  • Community-first approaches build lasting, credible impact

Greenpill Nigeria is just getting started. With momentum from “Take the Greenpill”, we’re:

  • Launching and Executing local Environmental initiative , with Water Cup started already
  • Partnering with global protocols for real-world pilots
  • Planning an Impactful Summit in Q4 2025
  • Growing our Dev Activities and ReFi-aligned community ecosystem
