🏛️ ReFi DAO 2.0 - Network Structure, Roles & Governance

As ReFi DAO continues to evolve as a global network society for regenerative finance, we’ve developed a network architecture that balances decentralized autonomy with coordinated alignment.

This post provides a short overview summary of how ReFi DAO operates—including the core roles, structures, and governance systems that aims to empower our community to thrive. For the full documentation, please refer to ReFi DAO Network Structure, Roles & Governance.

:compass: What is the ReFi DAO Network?

ReFi DAO is a multi-layered network composed of:

  • ReFi DAO Global: The operational and governance layer supporting strategic planning, treasury management, and coordination across the network.
  • ReFi Local Nodes: Place-based communities experimenting with regenerative finance in their local contexts.
  • Network Initiatives: Autonomous working groups (e.g. ReFi Podcast, Prosperity Passport) aligned with ReFi DAO’s mission and values.

Each layer functions autonomously, but remains aligned and connected through commitment to the shared community covenant and collaborative governance.

:busts_in_silhouette: Roles Within the Network

We’ve defined a series of key roles across the DAO:

  • Network Members: Anyone aligned with the ReFi DAO mission who signs the Community Covenant.
  • Core Stewards: Strategic facilitators of DAO-wide operations and governance.
  • Core Contributors & Advisors: Experts and collaborators executing initiatives or offering strategic guidance.
  • Local Node Leads & Initiative Leads: Coordinators of place-based or thematic actions aligned with the DAO’s mission.

:military_medal: Contribution Points & On-Chain Recognition

To support transparency, recognition, and coordination across our growing network, ReFi DAO uses a Contribution Points system to track and celebrate meaningful engagement across all roles and initiatives.

Whether you’re hosting a podcast, writing for the blog, stewarding a Local Node, donating on Gitcoin, or joining a Founders Circle, you can earn points that reflect your contributions across financial, labor, expertise, and participation domains. These points feed into Contributor Levels, helping recognize sustained and active involvement.

These contributions are also integrated into the Prosperity Pass, an on-chain identity and reputation system. Your activity earns you your ReFi DAO Badge that evolves as you engage—offering a transparent, verifiable record of your role in building this regenerative network society.

This system not only celebrates contributors, but also lays the groundwork for future governance participation, role access, and resource coordination within ReFi DAO 2.0.

:judge: Governance Overview

ReFi DAO Global uses a consent-based, optimistic governance model that:

  • Enables Local Nodes and Network Initiatives to act autonomously within mission-aligned boundaries.
  • Uses a biannual strategic planning cycle to align on key objectives, resource allocations, and roles.
  • Relies on transparent decision-making, role accountability, and adaptive review processes.
  • Embraces principles from The Androgynous Organisation (T.A.O.), DACI frameworks, and regenerative organizational cycles.
