:waving_hand: Hey everyone! I’m Monty—based mostly between the UK and digital nomading wherever the ReFi movement is unfolding:)

I come from a background in environmentalism and activism, but discovered ReFi while studying Economics, Management & Innovation at the University of Bristol. In 2021, I found John Ellison’s ReFi Podcast, which opened my eyes to the potential of Web3 for regeneration—and I was hooked. That same year, I gave a TEDx talk titled ā€œCan Crypto Regenerate the Earth?ā€ and merged my startup PeoplePower.fi into what became the next phase of ReFi DAO, which I’ve been co-building ever since.

Over the past few years, I’ve helped grow the network into a global constellation of ReFi Local Nodes, supported the launch of Regen Coordination, co-founded Celo Public Goods, and collaborated with incredible people across the ecosystem to raise millions in funding flowing to regenerative projects.

Right now, I’m focused on:

  • Launching ReFi DAO 2.0 with new network roles, governance systems, and contributor pathways

  • Supporting the rollout of the Prosperity Pass and Regenerative.fi for onchain reputation and coordination

  • Evolving Regen Coordination, Gitcoin 3.0 and funding methodologies through tools like ImpactQF, Karma GAP, and new ecosystem partnerships

:sparkles: Offers:
Always happy to connect with folks building regenerative projects, coordinating local communities, or exploring ReFi/Web3 funding. Feel free to reach out if you see potential synergies, have questions, or want to explore collaboration opportunities. See Linktree for socials.

:man_raising_hand: Needs / Asks:
Would love to see other folks introduce themselves here in this thread, engage in the forum, and get active in helping to co-create and evolve ReFi DAO 2.0 together. This next phase should be shaped by the community—your input, ideas, and energy are essential!

Let’s regenerate the future together :seedling:

Hey y’all, I’m Marcelo, mainly focused on research, but also experimenting with that vibecoding trend, based in Brazil!

My background is a mix of the academy (as I hold a PhD) and community builder, as I supported the emergence of a couple of Web3 communities in the ReFi ecosystem.

In 2021 (November), I founded Blockchain na Escola (which up to today has 30k+ certificates minted onchain and 2k+ irl students onboarded to Web3, but I’m just an advisor now), and three months later in 2022 I co-founded ReFi Spring with a couple of friends and helped to funnel funds to 40+ events about ReFi in the global south.

As ReFi Spring merged with ReFiDAO in 2023, I became a core team member on ReFiDAO, supporting the teams (mostly originating from ReFi Spring communities) to launch their local nodes. By that time, I was also helping the Impact Plus team as a Research Officer, producing knowledge about the intersection of Web3 and International Development.

Since then, I focused on Brazil, supporting teams like Ekonavi and Liga Colaborativa dos Povos to grow, supporting the sparking of the Web3 ecosystem in Salvador (the most violent city in Brazil in 2024) (1, 2, 3) and researching on Impact Capital Allocation (1) and the relationship between LatAm and Web3 (as in the handbook on Web3 Community Building in LatAm) within CeLatam where I recently (May) was included to the Governance Team.

My current focus is:

  1. Launching a pilot in Bahia to onboard students and entrepreneurs to Web3 through the ReFi lens on Celo.
  2. Exploring how zK can be used to protect activists, as Brazil is the country with the highest number of activists killed.
  3. Explore how impact capital allocation can unlock $13Tri USD for Regenerative Finance and Web3 as a whole.

Offers:
Research, knowledge on the Brazil Web3 ecosystem, capacity to translate complex ideas into straightforward concepts, and always happy to support educational content.

Needs:
Peers to review content and co-sign it, mainly on research between LATAM and Africa.

We do what we must because we can!

Hi ReFi DAO Family I’m Jimoh Nasihudeen , a full-stack blockchain developer, ecosystem contributor, and ReFi advocate based in Nigeria :nigeria:.

I joined ReFi DAO last year because I believe regeneration must start locally but be connected globally. On the ground in Africa, I’ve seen both the urgency of our environmental challenges and the incredible potential of community-led solutions when empowered with the right tools.

That’s why I founded AfriCycle a blockchain-powered circular economy platform transforming Africa’s waste crisis into economic opportunity and verified environmental impact. We reward waste collectors, verify recycling efforts, and drive real, measurable change using ReFi principles.

Now, I’m ready to step into ReFi Global as a contributor bringing hands-on experience, technical expertise, and a relentless commitment to scaling solutions that regenerate both planet and community.

:light_bulb: What I bring:

  • Proven local impact designing and implementing solutions that deliver measurable results in African communities.

  • Advocacy for regenerative finance promoting awareness, adoption, and education on ReFi principles.

  • Project building expertise from ideation to deployment, leading initiatives that merge blockchain technology with real-world impact.

  • EVM smart contracts & RWA tokenization for regenerative projects.

I’m here to collaborate, contribute, and co-create the future of regenerative coordination with you all. Let’s make it happen

Hey everyone! How’s it going? I’m Changuito, hailing from the wild west of Argentina, far from Buenos Aires.

I’m a lawyer by trade, but for over 15 years, I’ve been deep into tech as a founder and consultant for various projects. I dove into blockchain in 2017, then the world of DAOs in 2021, and by 2023, I was exploring Network States.

Today, I’m busy founding NetX State, a Regenerative Social Network. My goal is to align and collaborate with others to build a more cosmo-local world, one that deeply respects both people and the planet.

Good morning,

:waving_hand: Michael Ukwuma here

I’m deeply committed to driving regenerative change through community empowerment, Web3 innovation, and cultural preservation. My journey has taken me from advancing public health and social justice advocacy in Nigeria to leading ReFi Enugu, a vibrant local node of ReFi DAO, building on my impactful work with The Viable Community in The Hague.

My career spans nonprofit leadership, public policy, and community development, with a focus on health equity and sustainable systems. I’ve spearheaded programs like designing human rights training modules, creating M&E frameworks for social change, and advocating for policies that uplift underserved communities, including youth in conflict with the law. My academic roots in public health and the basic medical sciences fueled my passion for systemic change, leading me to explore sustainable tools that are both transparent and inclusive. That’s where my initial interest in Web3 tools came from.

Since 2021, I have contributed to climate action policy reviews through a local community of practice in Nigeria and to The Viable Community, where I lead project financing initiatives. Our work, in collaboration with ReFi The Hague, produced an impactful Web3 educational event in 2024 and inspired the need for ReFi Enugu. The new local node promotes Web3 education and sustainability, relaunching our Web3 educational initiative as the ā€œ042 GreenFest.ā€ My work also focuses on tree-planting and green space generation indoors and outdoors, with an interest in onchain impact tracking. Building on the 2024 youth Web3 event with ReFi The Hague and The Viable Community, I work to foster decentralized governance and community-led projects.

And yes, I am open to collaborations.

Hi all! I’m Tereza, originally from the Czech Republic and living in Colombia, passionate about communications and building narratives around Web3 for good. :seedling:

I’ve been involved in ReFi for the past three years. In early 2023, I received a ReFi Spring grant to host the first ReFi gathering in Colombia (as far as I know!), which then also led to co-founding ReFi MedellĆn with Juan. I’ve contributed articles to ReFi DAO and, together with Maya, produced Season 4 of the ReFi Podcast, creating a nexus of technology, impact, and regeneration across 15 episodes.

I work with Funding the Commons and contribute to Crypto Altruists. Lately, I’ve been drawn to working more closely with builders—helping bring ideas from theory to real-world experiments, whether through events like our upcoming virtual hackathon or through content that makes their work more accessible. I’ve also been writing for HackerNoon and thinking about how to build more long-lasting content hubs that can support impact and tech-for-good communities.

:sparkles: I’m always happy to support with content/comms strategy, pitch crafting, editing, workshop design, and narrative creation—anything that helps amplify the stories of people and projects building for impact.

Hey ReFi Fam :waving_hand:

John Dass tuning in from sunny Tunisia. I started ReFi DAO back in 2021 as a way to gather all of the amazing builders exploring at the intersection of climate and crypto. At the time I was leading growth at Toucan protocol, and we saw an explosive amount of interest using public ledgers to experiment with climate finance.

as a way to gather all of the amazing builders exploring at the intersection of climate and crypto. At the time I was leading growth at Toucan protocol, and we saw an explosive amount of interest using public ledgers to experiment with climate finance.

I handed over source stewardship of ReFi DAO to Monty Merlin :mage: back in November 2023 and have been enjoying, watching the progression of the network continue to grow sense.

I am super grateful to see Regen Coordination emerging to bring together all these amazing networks into a single place.

My thesis for the ReFi DAO network architecture of an online community supported by local nodes was inspired heavily by my work as a startup founder for most of my life alongside building small local climate positive community initiatives.

I’m now mostly observing and applauding the network’s efforts as I have ventured outside the ReFi space for the time being but very encouraged by the growth of the network specifically through the quadratic funding rounds and the enhanced grant evaluation and monitoring programs that Monty and crew have built.

Best of luck to all the regens doing their part to make a difference.

Hi everyone,

I’m Alex Wick, originally from NYC, now living in Portland, OR, and I’m deeply committed to climate action. My background is rooted in non-violent climate activism and environmental science. Before dedicating myself fully to Cascadia Carbon, I worked as a Biometrician for the USDA-USFS, holding secret clearance.

My experience has led me to focus on creating measurable impact. I live a low-carbon lifestyle and have been developing Cascadia Carbon’s CODEX technology. This work is crucial for scaling effective, data-driven regenerative solutions.

I recently faced a significant challenge after being falsely charged with multiple violent felonies related to a nearly five hour highway closure on No Kings Day in June. I am actively working to resolve this legal situation and clear my name.

I’m here to connect with others who are building in the regenerative finance space and explore how $CODEX can contribute to the mission of the ReFi DAO. I look forward to collaborating and discussing how we can create systemic change together.

Best,
Alex

Hello! :herb:

I am thrilled to join this space of like-minded people who believe in regenerative crypto-economics.

My name is Nadezhda, and I am the Visionary Architect of an eco-startup from Kazakhstan. Currently, our project is in its early startup stage: we have a powerful concept, visual models, and have already submitted applications to Web3 hackathons. Now, we are focused on moving from vision to execution.

As you can see from the imagery, our planet is facing a silent multi-headed monster: daily waste, endless landfills, and toxic pollution that poisons our land and water. We cannot just stand by.

Our project, GREEN TITANS, aims to create a real-world circular economy and Web3 recycling network in Kazakhstan. We are designing a physical industrial cluster to stop waste accumulation and transition to zero-waste manufacturing. To ensure absolute transparency, track impact, and scale this infrastructure, we want to integrate DePIN and Web3 mechanics.

Since we are at the foundational stage, I am here to find my people. I am looking for experienced developers, Web3 architects, mentors, and partners who are passionate about the environment and ready to help build and code this infrastructure from the ground up.

Let’s turn extraction into regeneration together! :rocket:
