ReFi DAO operates as a decentralized network of interconnected structures and initiatives, each aligned under our shared mission, values, and Community Covenant.

:backhand_index_pointing_right: ReFi DAO Global: The connective coordination body for the global network, providing strategic development, operational support, and alignment across the ecosystem. Core Stewards, the Source Lead, and Contributors & Advisors collaborate to nurture the network’s growth, steward financial and operational resources, and ensure alignment with ReFi DAO’s mission and vision.

:backhand_index_pointing_right: Contributor / Advisor Role: Contributors and Advisors engage with ReFi DAO Global based on their capacity and focus areas — from operational support and strategic input to governance participation and specific project work. This is a flexible role with no fixed time commitment. Engagement typically involves participating in coordination calls, staying up to date on network developments, and contributing to governance decisions. When specific initiatives or projects arise, paid opportunities become available based on scope and available resources. Active Contributors & Advisors receive a Hat in the ReFi DAO Hats tree through Hats Protocol, representing the role on-chain and reviewed biannually in the renewal process.

:bar_chart: Renewal Overview

As part of our biannual governance cycle, we’ve completed the H2 2025 renewal process for ReFi DAO Global contributors. This process is designed to keep our network dynamic, aligned, and focused on creating lasting value for the regenerative finance ecosystem.

Key Numbers:

  • 13 renewal submissions, 12 continuing (92%)

  • 4 new local node leads joining

  • 19 total contributors for H2 2025

This strong retention reflects our community’s commitment to building regenerative economies while maintaining a sustainable, focused approach to network coordination. Rather than rapid expansion, we’re aiming to prioritize depth of engagement and quality of support for our growing network of local nodes and initiatives.

:light_bulb: What We Heard - Contributor Feedback Highlights

The renewal process surfaced clear themes about how we can better support contributors and strengthen our network:

1. Contribution Pathways

Many contributors expressed interest in engaging more but weren’t always sure how. The feedback was consistent: we need clearer, more visible ways for people to jump in and contribute meaningfully. We’re working on making opportunities more explicit and accessible.

2. Knowledge Sharing & Peer Learning

Strong enthusiasm emerged for structured knowledge exchange across our network. Contributors want to share expertise—from event organizing to fundraising to impact measurement—in ways that strengthen the entire ecosystem.

3. Community Cohesion

While virtual coordination works well operationally, there’s a clear desire for more regular touchpoints that build relationships and create space for listening and connection beyond task-focused calls.

Emerging Opportunities

We’re taking this feedback seriously and working to create clearer pathways for engagement. Based on contributor interest, several opportunities are being explored:

  • Research & Media Initiative - Tereza, Maya, and Trinity are exploring opportunities to produce deep dives, educational content, and storytelling that amplifies the ReFi movement

  • Monthly Community Circles - Eve has expressed interest in facilitating open gathering spaces (aligned with lunar cycles) for sharing, meditation, and cross-node connection

  • Improved Onboarding - Streamlined guides and clearer pathways for new contributors

  • Knowledge Sharing Workshops - Potential monthly peer clinics on topics like event management, fundraising, and governance

These are contributor-led opportunities that will take shape based on capacity and community interest.

:counterclockwise_arrows_button: Governance Evolution & Role Transitions

Simplified Structure

In H2 2025, we’ve evolved away from the Core Stewards role that existed in H1 (which included Monty, Luiz, Scott, and Raam) toward a more flattened contributor and advisor structure. This shift reflects our focus on flexibility and contribution over rigid hierarchy.

Current coordination:

  • Monty (source lead) - strategic direction and partnerships

  • Luiz Fernando (operations lead) - day-to-day coordination and systems

  • All other contributors function as core contributors / advisors based on capacity and focus areas

This simpler structure allows people to engage in ways that work for their current capacity while maintaining clear coordination for network-level decisions. The evolution of the Core Stewards role into this flatter model is part of our broader move toward sustainable, minimal viable operations.

Contributors Stepping Back

Susanne and Sage are stepping back from active coordination to focus on other priorities

We’re grateful for their contributions and embrace the natural flow of participation.
