Supporting the Greenpill Garden program are a set of regenerative onchain protocols that provide Stewards with the various forms of capital they need to establish deeper roots. These protocols are connected to the Garden but also exist as self-sustaining entities that can work in tandem with other funding rounds and initiatives. The long term goal is to grow their trust, reputation, and value within regenerative communities and among ecosystem funders, ultimately enshrining them as core regenerative protocols.

Glossary

  • Capital Focus - Which of the 8 forms of capital the protocol taps into and provides the ecosystem.

  • Leads - Take a leadership role and execute core operations for 3 months until election.

  • Advisors - Regens not directly involved with Greenpill who can support protocols and help them grow outside of Greenpill.

  • Success Metrics - The quantitative goals of the protocols over the next 4 months till the end of Q1 2026.

  • Tooling - Web3 tooling to support the function and execution of protocol.

Greenpill IRL - Grassroot Engagement & Growth

This protocol is centered around providing financial, material and intellectual resources to Chapters for on ground coordination and capture the impact onchain and with engaging content. It taps into all 8 forms of Capital by enabling Chapters to create regenerative spaces within their community to solve their local issues while building an onchain footprint of impact. Stewards with no Chapter can access the educational material and get discounts on Greenpill resources.

Regen Reservoir - Resource & Knowledge Commitments

A core protocol of the program is to establish a hub of regenerative services, offering Stewards access to learning and mentorship. This hub also enables Stewards to provide their services to the broader regenerative community. The learning initiatives will guide Stewards in developing their identity, structure, and protocols to effectively navigate both the web3 and local environments. This protocol will be primarily supported by commitment pools utilizing the Sarafu Network, facilitating voucher-based commitments for services and goods.

Public Goods Staking - Establishing Ethereum Infra Roots

Native to Ethereum, the public goods staking protocol focuses on establishing Stewards with blockchain-based funding infrastructure through Ethereum node operation and DeFi staking. Ethereum relies on validators to distribute and decentralize the network. By teaching and enabling local initiatives to participate, we impart a foundational aspect of all blockchains, especially Ethereum, and help create more network resiliency with nodes across many regions. Additionally, low-risk DeFi opportunities largely revolving around ETH and stablecoins can be utilized by initiatives/communities to establish perpetual funding flows that will help sustain impact.

Greenpill Impact Framework - Translating Impact Onchain

This impact reporting framework, focused on the Common Impact Data Standard methodology, captures and tracks the impact and outcomes generated across the other three protocols. A core aspect of this protocol is simplifying and automating impact reporting by increasing the interoperability of tools like Karma GAP and Impact Miner. As Stewards generate impact during the season, they will use this framework to report their activities in a common structure that better demonstrates alignment and growth across the entire Network.

Over time, as Stewards run events, make commitments, operate validators, stake for public goods, and report their impact in a CIDS compliant way, these protocols will accumulate trust, reputation, and proven value for the wider regenerative and Ethereum ecosystems. In doing so, they will not only support this Season of the Greenpill Garden, they will also mature into core regenerative infrastructure that future Stewards, partners, and funders can build on. By investing in these protocols now, we are cultivating a set of durable, interoperable primitives that help regens everywhere turn care for their communities and bioregions into tangible, onchain outcomes.
